This work is largely related to the replacement of existing ground level spray ports and the installation of Owner supplied above ground spray toys. The work includes demolition of existing concrete in preparation for the installation of the new above ground spray toys, splash pad concrete flatwork with reinforcement, installation of a new PVC supply line for one of the spray toys, removal of existing concrete color coating in preparation of a new color surface, application of a new multi-color surface application, miscellaneous work related to the installation of the new above ground spray toys, installation, maintenance, and removal of a stabilized construction entrance, construction security fencing, silt fencing. The new spray toys are Owner supplied contractor/bidder installed.

The contractor awarded the contract will be required to post a performance bond, labor and material payment bond in a penal amount equal to the contract price, plus insurance meeting District

This contract calls for the construction of a “public work”, within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing
Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/0.01, et seq. (the “Act”) The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers and workers performing services on public works projects no less than the “prevailing rate of wages” (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed.
