This work is related to the renovation of Walker Park and includes replacement of existing wood fiber
surfacing under the existing playground apparatus with poured-in-place rubber surfacing, the
installation of Owner supplied challenge course equipment and poured-in-place rubber surfacing,
installation of new asphalt path network, installation of concrete flatwork, installation of new sand volleyball court with open graded stone base for volume control, the installation of Owner supplied ICON 48×23 open air shelter building, installation of storm sewer inlets, piping and appurtenances, grading, soil erosion and sedimentation control systems including silt fence, furnishing and installing a CXT pre-engineered vault restroom building, landscaping, seeding, installation of erosion control blanket and any other miscellaneous work necessary for a complete job as depicted in the plans and specifications.

This work is partially funded by an Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Open Space Land Acquisition and Development Grant (OSLAD). The District encourages the participation of businesses owned by Minorities, Females and Persons with Disabilities in the implementation and execution of the Project, either on a direct basis or through subcontracting efforts. DBE requirements for the Project are consistent with State of Illinois DBE requirements. A DBE Form must be submitted as a part of Contractor’s bid.

The contractor awarded the contract will be required to post a performance bond, labor and material payment bond in a penal amount equal to the contract price, plus insurance meeting district
requirements.

This notice shall not create any legal obligation on behalf of the District to evaluate any bid that is
submitted by a contractor, or to enter into any contract with a contractor submitting a bid. The District reserves the right to (1) cancel or modify this notice or the contract documents in whole or in part; (2) reject any or all bids submitted; (3) waive non-material formalities and technicalities deemed
appropriate; (4) postpone bid opening; (5) issue a call for new bids; and/or (6) award the contract for
the project in whole or in part, or to one or more contractors.
